I'd like to thank a lovely young waste disposal man who helped me out this morning. After an awful night of waiting to hear news of my sick father, we had forgotten to put the bin out at the back of our terrace and realised we may have missed the wagon when we heard it at the front.

TRAFFORD Council's assertions that it is tackling school run pollution and encouraging alternative modes of transport for school children are half-baked and lacking logic.

I WISH to add my protest to that of Brian Newhall regarding the proposed sale of the piece of green land at the junction of Barrington Road and Stamford Road, Altrincham. I hope that many other Altrincham residents will do likewise and write to Trafford Council as I have done.

TODAY I went to Urmston and the only place I could park was the council run car park on Manor Avenue, it was about 2 in the afternoon in broad daylight in a car park with taxi drivers waiting in and other users in and out and in a few minutes some little thieving scum cut off and stole the catalytic convertor off my exhaust pipe. I parked there as it is supposed to be the best place in Urmston not to get a parking ticket and there is people in and out of it all the time. In future I’d rather park in sight of me and risk getting a ticket than have to pay out several hundred pounds for a new cat. Also the police told me they have had a lot of calls about catalytics being stolen, I hope the scum who stole mine do not get the chance to spend the couple of pound he got for scrap for it. IN the current war against obesity, can anyone explain the logic in charging 50p for a one-year-old baby to swim in Trafford, especially when accompanied by my eight-year-old, paying £1.40 and myself at £2.80.
