Service was a disgrace

ON Remembrance Sunday I set off to Springfield Road at 10.30am. I marched to the cenotaph with my comrades and on to St Paul’s and we arrived at 10.38 approximately.

The service started at 10.45. Unfortunately the public address system wasn’t working which was very upsetting for all, as the parade and spectators couldn’r hear anything.

Wouldn’t you think Trafford Council would have checked the system beforehand?

The two minute silence was set for 10.50am, instead of 11am with the rest of the country. The whole affair was a complete disgrace.

Very proud ex-serviceman but very disgruntled.

Name and address supplied

your lucky you were even allowed to have the service. These days its a wonder it was not called a racist festival and banned altogether!

It seems that this was not the only Remembrance Service that was affected. Hale Barns War Memorial service did not have either a bugler or a PA System, both normally supplied by Trafford Council. If the current leadership at Trafford can't get something as important and yet simple as this right, how can they be trusted with anything else?

The fact that at least 2 or 3 Trafford Remembrance Services were not organised properly has to be one of the most shameful acts that this Council has managed to achieve recently. Where is the statement of apology from Susan Williams, the Leader of the Council, to explain the incompetance? There has easily been sufficient time since to say something but obviously she does not see the Services as important enough to bother.

Since when was Susan Williams interested in Trafford though - her incompetence is only surpassed by her self aggrandisement and ego, the shambles on Remembrance Sunday in the Tory heartland of Hale being a perfect example.
She won't apologise because to do so would require humility, common sense and a knowledge and understanding not just of the people and communities she serves, but also the offence the shambles at Hale caused, not just to those that have served this country but to all decent and right minded folk.

The sooner the public vote this Council out of office the better.
The shambles on remembrance Sunday just shows how much they are out of touch with the publics feelings, hopeing another error will just go away.
