In last week’s Messenger it was stated that the Altair development was named after the brightest star in the northern skies. I would just like to inform you that Altair, the brightest star in the constellation of Aquila, is not the brightest star in the sky. Sirius, at magnitude minus 1.5, is easily the brightest star in the northern winter sky.
