AUDREY Smith is looking to peel back the decades and meet up with her school friends of more than 60 years ago.
Former Bowdon C of E Primary School pupil Audrey Smith (nee Daven) recently discovered a photograph taken of her with her classmates when they were aged nine, in 1946.
The photograph brought memories flooding back - and made Audrey think about catching up with her old friends.
Her husband, Alan, organised a similar reunion five years ago after finding an old photograph of his class at Wellington Road School, Timperley. 19 of his class attended a reunion, including long-serving Village ward councillor Ray Bowker.
Audrey, who has lived in Cornwall with Alan for the past 21 years, said: "I could not believe it when I saw the photograph after all those years - I thought is that us?
"It was a wonderful school, I have very happy memories of it."
Audrey, who is pictured second from left on the front row, recalls the head at the time was Mr Hedge.
Her classmates on the photo that she remembers include: Ann Hillier, Marjorie Platt, Cherie Taylor (whose parents ran the Griffin Hotel across from the school), John Evans, John Andrews and Thelma Graham.
Anyone who is on the photograph, or has any information about it, can call Audrey on 01326 564178 or email alynord@tiscali.co.uk
