A FREE report will help Trafford residents reduce their carbon footprint and cut fuel bills.

The Energy Saving Trust (EST) has joined forces with the council to offer people a free, personalised home energy report.

Letters are being sent directly to nearly 30,000 properties with an enclosed home energy check form.

And those who return their completed form by December 19 will be entered into a prize draw with the chance to win a £250.

Home energy reports explain how to keep your house warm over winter and save around £150 on fuel bills.

Reports indicate how energy efficient your home is on a scale of A to G. The most energy efficient homes - which should have the lowest fuel bills - are in bands A to C.

The report also gives practical advice on how to save energy and help fight climate change.

Executive councillor Jonathan Coupe said: “This is a great way of helping people become more energy efficient. I would encourage householders to get their free home energy report to find ways of reducing their carbon footprint and help make Trafford a cleaner, greener borough.”

Funded by the Government, the EST provides free, impartial, expert advice on saving energy.

To speak to an EST advisor for guidance on completing the home energy check or for more information on saving energy at home call free on 0800 512 012.
